Effective today, OMH has adopted as final the addition of a new Section 599.17 to 14 NYCRR Part 599, Clinic Treatment Services. This new section, Telepsychiatry Services, establishes the basic standards and parameters to approve the use of telepsychiatry in OMH-licensed clinic programs that choose to offer this service. The Notice of Adoption was published in today’s edition of the State Register http://docs.dos.ny.gov/info/register/2015/feb11/pdf/rulemaking.pdf#page=10 and a copy of the regulatory text is here – 599.text.1.27.15. In addition, OMH is providing implementation guidance to New York State providers that are currently licensed to perform clinic treatment services under 14 NYCRR Part 599, and who wish to offer telepsychiatry to the individuals they serve.
