State of New York Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing: Stakeholder Interviews

Hi everyone – Please look at this message from HCR closely. They have scheduled a number of stakeholder calls, by category, on the issue of impediments to Fair Housing. Many of you will fall into more than one category so pick the one that best suits you and PLEASE weigh in, or call into more than one to listen in.  We are hearing from all over the state that there are serious issues with siting new projects with a number of ACL members involved in lawsuits.   We will call in as well on a number of these.  We certainly appreciate their concern for this issue.

Greetings All:

I’m writing to remind you about your opportunity to provide input to the State of New York’s Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (or AI).

**Please note: The access code and GoToMeeting link has been updated.** See below for additional information.

The recommendations included in the AI will influence how the State sets its funding goals and priorities during the next Five-Year Consolidated Planning process. Please designate someone from your agency or organization to participate in our stakeholder interviews! We are looking to speak with community development specialists, housing developers and planners, housing service providers, and grant administrators.

The stakeholder interviews are an important component of the agency consultation requirement for the State of New York’s Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (or AI). The AI is required by HUD to ensure that the State’s housing programs and services are implemented in a non-discriminatory manner.

Please plan to join us and participate in the interview session that most closely aligns with your organization. Both sessions for each category will cover the same agenda and questions, and all sessions will be audio-recorded and uploaded to the project website accessible at www.fairhousingmattersny.org within 48 hours of the conclusion of the interview.

**Please note: The access code and GoToMeeting link has been updated.**
