This workshop explores a trauma-informed approach to de-escalation, helping participants use assertiveness, empathy, and effective communication to defuse tension and promote safety in health care settings.

Participants will examine how trauma, anger, and the care environment can influence behavior, reflect on their own communication styles, and explore legal and ethical considerations. The training offers practical tools to recognize warning signs, assess the risk of violence, and respond confidently before situations escalate.

This workshop focuses on preventing violence and does not include instruction in physical restraints.
