Mercy Haven is seeking a Housing Revenue & Resident Accounts Specialist to manage billing, receivables, revenue tracking, and financial reporting for Medical Respite and social care network programs within the organization. This role focuses on supporting the financial integrity of housing and transitional resident programs by ensuring accurate billing, contract tracking, rent collection, and monitoring of program budgets and expenditures.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Medical Respite & Social Care Administration
Responsible for Medical Respite billing and accounts receivable processing
Track revenue and expenses related to Medical Respite and social care network programs
Monitor and maintain all social care network contracts, including funding allocations and expenditures
Ensure social care network budgets are properly utilized within contract periods
Notify appropriate staff of unspent balances or potential funding issues before contract expiration dates
Maintain accurate records of short-term transitional resident funding and expenses
Prepare reports related to program funding, expenditures, and receivables as requested
Accounts Receivable & Rent Management
Maintain Accounts Receivable ledgers for resident rent charges and payments
Verify, record, and post all rent receipts accurately and timely
Mail rent receipts to residents as required
Prepare and maintain spreadsheets tracking resident rent arrears
Prepare and distribute arrears notification letters to residents monthly
At the direction of Housing Specialists, contact residents regarding outstanding rent balances and meet with residents to discuss implications of non-payment of rent and establishing of payment plans
Track and reconcile rent accounts for Community Residences and Adult Home programs
Enter, transmit, and post Medicaid billing information
Process resident rent charges and ensure proper documentation and reconciliation
Financial Tracking & Compliance
Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with organizational policies and funding requirements.
Assist with audits, reconciliations, and reporting requirements related to grants and contracts
Monitor accounts to ensure accuracy and timely follow-up on outstanding balances
Work collaboratively with program and finance staff to ensure compliance with contractual and financial obligations
All other relevant duties assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Associate’s degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred
Minimum of 2 years of accounts receivable, billing, or nonprofit finance experience preferred
Experience with Medicaid billing and nonprofit contract management is highly desirable
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Knowledge of nonprofit housing, supportive housing, or transitional housing programs (Preferred)
Familiarity with grant-funded programs and budget tracking (Preferred)
Experience working with diverse and vulnerable populations (Preferred)
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
PAY: $60,000 Annually (Non-exempt)
LOCATION: Main Office in Islip Terrace, NY
