Increasing Unemployment Costs – The Nonprofit Trust Can Help!

We know that many of you are struggling to make ends meet.  When I was the Executive Director of a mid-sized agency in the mid-Hudson Valley, I made the switch to self-insure for unemployment benefits.  My costs went from $50,000 a year to $2,000, and that was in 1998!  Of course, you need to be educated on managing the work force but it is very doable.

The Nonprofit Trust can help you.  It is a member owned unemployment trust for 501(c)(3) organizations that offers a safe, secure alternative to paying unemployment taxes that could redirect funding dollars back into your organization by reducing your annual costs by more than 40%.  This level of savings is possible even when factoring in the changes planned for the next 12 years due to the State’s debt to the federal government of more than $1,300,000,000.   The New York State Unemployment Taxable Wage Base increased more than 21% in 2014 from $8,500 to $10,300.   The State has scheduled further increases totaling an additional 26% through 2026.

There is no joint and several liability.  You make payments to the Trust to pay only your unemployment obligations, which is never comingled or invested.  It is safe. For a fee, you get access to workforce management expertise, hearing representation and more.

For a no obligation proposal to see how much your organization can save (more than a dozen ACL members already are) during these times of shrinking funding and increased costs, you can complete the Request for Proposal that you can access here TNT_RFP Either fax it to (877-669-5109), email it to ([email protected]) or mail it back to see if the time is right for your organization to do what more than 5,000 nonprofit organizations are doing nationwide.

Please keep in mind that the New York deadline to exercise your right to change is 12/30/14.

If you want to talk to someone in person, there will be representatives from the Trust at the Annual Conference on Thursday, November 6th

See you there!
