3 ACL Member Orgs Receive Funding from OTDA HHAP for Mental Health Support Housing Projects

Congratulations to 3 ACL member organizations for being awarded funds from the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance’s Homeless Housing and Assistance Program! In total the three agencies will be providing 85 new units of homeless and mental health housing.

NYC

The Bridge – $6.50 million

Funding awarded for a newly-constructed, seven-story building in the Bronx that will develop 69 units for homeless veterans and individuals with mental illness, or who are frail and elderly. Support services include medication management, assistance with securing psychiatric services, vocational services, family reunification and in-home care.

Central

Oswego County Opportunities – $909,767
Funding awarded to address critical repairs to preserve the Backstreet Apartments Permanent Supportive Housing program in Fulton. Six units and 10 beds of permanent supportive housing will be preserved for individuals and families who are homeless. Support services include case management, financial skills training, mental health and/or substance abuse counseling and employment/vocational training.

Western

Southern Tier Environments for Living – $2.22 million 
Funding awarded for the Dunkirk Renovation & Ownership Program, which includes the new construction and renovation of four sites in Dunkirk, consisting of 10 units and 20 beds, for individuals who are homeless and diagnosed with a severe mental illness. Support services include counseling, psychoeducational services and a supportive living environment.
