The Department of Health is pleased to announce the date for the public comment day for New York’s 1115 Medicaid waiver programs.
The Medicaid Redesign Team (MRT) public comment day will be held on June 24, 2019 at SUNY School of Public Health’s Auditorium, 1 University Place, Rensselaer, NY 12144. The day will begin with a working session of the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) Project Approval and Oversight Panel (PAOP). MRT public comment will commence in the afternoon from 1-4pm. Any written public comment may be submitted through July 5, 2019 to [email protected]. Please include “1115 Public Forum Comment” in the subject line.
About the 1115 waiver:
- The 1115 waiver, also known as the MRT waiver in New York State, is an agreement between the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and New York State that allows the State to use a managed care delivery system to deliver benefits to Medicaid members, create efficiencies in the Medicaid program, and enable the extension of coverage to certain individuals who would otherwise be without health insurance.
- The MRT waiver is a vehicle by which the State has implemented the initiatives of the MRT and subsequent health systems reforms, including the DSRIP program.
- In addition, New York’s goals in implementing its MRT waiver include improving access to health services and achieving better health outcomes for New Yorkers through multiple programs.
This meeting will be webcast live (https://www.health.ny.gov/events/webcasts/) and will be open to the public. No pre-registration is required. Individuals who wish to provide comment in person are asked to register on-site no later than 2:00pm and will speak in their order of registration. We kindly request that all comments be limited to five minutes per presenter to ensure that all public comments may be heard.
