OMH Approval of Disposition of Real Property Acquired through State Aid

The following comes to us from Robert Myers, Senior Deputy Commissioner of OMH, regarding the disposal of real property.

OMH Approval of Disposition of Real Property Acquired through State Aid

Dear Housing Providers,

Providing a range of safe and habitable residential opportunities for our recipients is a crucial component of recovery and OMH appreciates your contribution to this effort.  Here is a link to a new guidance memorandum directed to providers of such residential services that operate programs on property purchased with State aid grants.

The memorandum explains OMH’s expectation that facilities continue to be utilized even after a lien period expires and outlines the legal basis for the requirement that providers obtain OMH’s prior written approval if they wish to dispose of such facilities.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Robert Myers, Ph.D.
Senior Deputy Commissioner,
Director of Adult Services, State Psychiatric Centers and Managed Care
