Dear MRT Listserv Subscriber:

The Department of Health is pleased to announce dates for the 2017 Public Comment Days on New York’s 1115 Waiver programs.

The 1115 waiver is designed to permit New York to use a managed care delivery system to deliver benefits to Medicaid recipients, create efficiencies in the Medicaid program, and enable the extension of coverage to certain individuals who would otherwise be without health insurance.  In addition, New York’s goals in implanting its 1115 waiver include improving access to health services and better health outcomes for New Yorkers through multiple programs. More information on the 1115 waiver and its programs is available at: http://www.health.ny.gov/health_care/medicaid/redesign/medicaid_waiver_1115.htm. The Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) Program is a significant waiver initiative, and members of the DSRIP Project Approval and Oversight Panel (PAOP) will join DOH staff in listening to the feedback provided by members of the public and stakeholders on these Public Comment Days. Feedback on all waiver programs is welcomed.

The Upstate Public Comment Day will be held on August 14, 2017 in Albany at the SUNY Albany School of Public Health (1 University Pl, Rensselaer), from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Any updates related to the forum will be sent via the MRT Listserv. Any written public comment may be submitted through August 23, 2017 [email protected].  Please include “1115 Public Forum Comment” in the subject line.

These meetings will be webcast live and will be open to the public. Registration will begin at 12:30pm, and no pre-registration is required. Individuals who wish to provide comment will be asked to register on site, and will speak in their order of registration. Public Comment will not be grouped by topic.
