Under the supervision of the START Director, the START Resource Center Director is responsible for the supervision of the START Resource Center Program Manager. The START Resource Center Director will assume responsibility for the full operations of the Resource Center.
•Supervise/Oversee full operations of the Suffolk County Resource Center
•Ensure that the rights, health, safety and personal outcomes of the guests visiting the residence are supported at all times
•Interview, hire, develop and retain high quality staff
•24/7 on-call support and coverage as needed
•Establish community linkages and serve as liaison to community partners
•Provide administrative, clinical support and oversight to the START center counselors and track training requirements and other credentialing for all counselors
•Coordinate with START coordinators on admissions/discharges
•Plan and implement structured day programming for all guests
•Develop discharge plans for all guests utilizing emergency center services
•Maintain contact with families and providers upon admission to the center
•In collaboration with the START clinical team, identify ongoing support and training needs of families and providers who utilize therapeutic center supports
•Attend all required meetings with START leadership, clinical team, etc.
•Convene and facilitate recurring START center staff meetings
•Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling or other human service field
•5 years’ experience working with people who have IDD and mental health and/or behavioral health needs
•3 years’ experience working in a residential setting
•1 year of supervisory experience in residential setting
•Ability to complete the START coordinator certification process within 6-12 months of hiring
•Valid driver’s license
