Responsible for assisting the Program Manager in providing leadership and management of a peer run crisis respite program. Organization and supervision of services, staff and facilities. Responsibilities include answering the warm line, greeting and orienting new individuals to respite, facilitating recovery-based groups and activities, assisting individuals with transitioning back to community living, working with providers and natural supports, assisting in the daily operation of the residence. Staff will help residents navigate through their crisis period, identify short-term solutions and develop coping skills to manage subsequent difficulties. Maintains client and agency records to the standards defined by regulators, funders, and East House policies and procedures. The Assistant Program Manager is also expected to serve as Program Manager during his/her absence.
Must be a past or present consumer of mental health and/or chemical addiction services who can relate to others who are currently using those services. Able to share personal experience and encourage wellness and recovery. High School Diploma or equivalent and three years paid human service experience or Associates degree in human service related field and 2 years paid human service experience. NYS motor vehicle license, safe driving record and availability of vehicle for work are required. Peer certification strongly preferred.
Full-time. Non-exempt. 35 hours a week. Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday. Mixture of day and evening hours.
