Historic Tax Credit May Become History

The Historic Tax Credit is in danger.  It began in 1976 and was expanded under Reagan in 1981.

This article, http://bit.ly/2yxnF4X, is written from a Capital Region perspective, but it is a federal program.

Quotes from the article:

“The Trust said that since the credit’s inception, it has cost the U.S. Treasury $23.1 billion, but has provided $28.1 billion in direct federal tax revenue.”

And, ironically:

“”Trump is the only president in American history who has used the historic tax credit,” “Kaufman added. Trump’s conversion of the former Old Post Office building in Washington, D.C. reportedly netted a tax credit worth $30 million.”
