New York Shows Signs of Bending the Medicaid Cost Curve

A new blog released by the Empire Center called,Bending NY’s Medicaid curve,” shows that New York Medicaid spending per recipient has dropped from $10,684 to $8,731, or 18 percent, between 2010 and 2014, nearly twice the national average. The article attributes the Medicaid Redesign Team’s program changes and shift to managed care among the reasons for the decrease.
